Shuai Na

Assistant Professor

Assistant Professor, Research Fellow, Doctoral Advisor

Biography

Dr. Shuai Na is interested in the development and clinical translation of photoacoustic and ultrasonic imaging technology. He has published around 30 academic papers in the fields of high-sensitivity ultrasonic transducers, photoacoustic image reconstruction algorithms, and multimodal photoacoustic and ultrasonic imaging technology, applied for two U.S. invention patents, participated in two projects funded by National Institutes of Health (NIH) and one funded by Canadian National Innovation Fund (CFI), led three projects funded by the Canadian Microsystem Design Consortium (CMC Microsystems), and is serving as the guest editor of two journals Micromachines and Applied Science. The achievements on human brain functional photoacoustic tomography and cross-ray ultrasound tomography won two Best Paper Awards of SPIE Photonics West. The achievements on high-sensitivity ultrasonic transducers won the CMC Microsystems Award. His research group, Biomedical Optical and Acoustic Imaging Laboratory (BOAI Lab), will be committed to developing advanced functional imaging technologies with higher sensitivity, higher specificity, and greater universality to promote brain science and clinical medical research.
