Dr. Xiao’s research has been focused on cardiovascular and metabolic diseases, with a major emphasis on a translational approach to take bench discoveries into clinically relevant situations. She has over 160 publications in peer-reviewed journals, such as  Nature ,  Nature Medicine ,  Nature Cell Biology ,  Molecular Cell , and  Circulation , with over 11,000 citations. Dr. Xiao serves as a council member of the International Society of Heart Research (ISHR) and the American Society for Clinical Investigation (ASCI), and as an Associate Editor of the  New England Journal of Medicine and on the editorial board of several other scientific journals.
