Short Bio:Jinglei Zhai, associate researcher at the Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences; "Chin-Ye Researcher" of Beijing Institute for Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine; awardee of the Distinguished Youth Scholar of the National Natural Science Foundation (2023); awardee of the Beijing "Nova Innovator" project (2024); MIT Technology Review Asia Pacific Under 35 Innovators (2024). She obtained her Ph.D. in Basic Medical Sciences from the Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and subsequently joined the postdoctoral station at the same institute. In 2023, she completed her postdoctoral training and stayed at the institute in a permanent position. Her research focuses on primate embryogenesis and in vitro development modeling. Her study direction includes (1) establishing various in vitro culture (IVC) systems for rodent and primate embryos to support their long-term development and studying the core events of gastrulation and early organogenesis using IVC systems; and (2) collecting and constructing single-cell multi-omics datasets of mammalian embryos and extraembryonic tissues, establishing digital embryo atlas, and explore the differentiation trajectories and development mechanisms on single-cell spatial-temporal resolution. The related studies have been published in Science, Nature, Cell, Developmental Cell, and Advanced Science, etc.
